🔗 Share this article Maddie McCann's Brother and Sister Detail Alleged Harasser's Actions as Extremely Upsetting and Unsettling Maddie McCann twin siblings, Sean and Amelie, have told the court that their encounters with an accused stalker were deeply upsetting and creepy. They explained feeling anxious and frightened by a woman who claimed she was their missing sister. Persistent Communication Described as Frightening Appearing remotely, she described how the accused, the 24-year-old, contacted her multiple times through social media and written correspondence. She said the relentlessness was quite scary since you don’t know what her next move might be. Communications from the defendant were presented in the trial, in which she recounted recollections of living in the McCann household that she claimed were recovered during hypnotherapy. Amelie told the court, It's very disturbing that she’s coming up with these supposed memories, despite the fact she isn't Maddie. Fabricated Pictures Heightened Unease The court heard that the accused had produced images of herself and Amelie as young girls, which the prosecution said were generated with AI tools. Some of these photos were sent through online channels, while additional ones were produced physically and enclosed in a letter to her. Amelie said, It was unpleasant, it caused me to feel very uncomfortable. She had clearly edited the images to make me look more like her, which was quite disturbing. I was aware I didn't resemble that, I understood it had been changed. Emotional Impact on the Household Amelie also discussed the impact of the supposed harassment on her mother, their mother, who testified about being approached at her residence by Wandelt and her alleged accomplice, Karen Spragg. In my opinion my mum found it the most difficult. She was harassed by Julia more than the others in the family and I believe it certainly took its toll on her and her wellbeing, Amelie testified. It's distressing when a person is begging you to believe them and playing with your emotions, to the point you are questioning yourself. Sibling's Statement on Stress and Digital Attention In a witness statement presented to the trial, her brother stated that for him, he had not been too badly affected by Wandelt's alleged harassment. However he had been distressed that she was attracting social media scrutiny, with people saying nasty and unfair things about his mother and father. In the event that she was not suffering from a psychological condition and was completely conscious she is not Madeleine, yet continues to assert she is, that will be very upsetting for me, he said. I am convinced she is my sibling. The reality that the defendant is engaging in this behavior has resulted in a great deal of stress and I consider it profoundly disturbing. The defendant and her co-defendant deny stalking the family family. The trial continue.
