🔗 Share this article The network's Premier Fresh Series of 2025 Gets a Substantial Renewal for Seasons 2 and 3. During the fall season, the late-night programming block saw the return of its quirky hit, Smiling Friends. However, not long after, the network unveiled a completely new animated series with a distinctly unique tone. Haha, You Clowns emerged as heartwarming and calm, in the spirit of a animated take of a laid-back talk show. At a time often characterized by dark humor, this show's sincerity resonated deeply and turned it into a breakout hit. A Major Commitment On December 18th, Adult Swim revealed exciting news: Haha, You Clowns has been greenlit for two additional seasons. This gives creator Joe Cappa a massive runway to develop the world of the Campbell family. The series follows three polite teenage brothers whose primary trait is their deep love for their single father, with Cappa voicing for all four key characters. "I’m so grateful to the viewers of the show who took a chance on the show and helped it grow," remarked Cappa. "It's thrilling that I get to spend more time in the Campbell household for seasons to come." Network Praise In the same announcement praise from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who described the series as "profoundly sincere and strangely uncanny." He shouted out the fans who found the show and advocated for its peculiarly charming sensibility. "All of you got behind this new show, championed for it on social media, and grew it week over week so we could approve not one, but two more seasons," noted Ouweleen. "In the words: 'You are strong! You are loved!'" A Wholesome Alternative Earlier this fall, Haha, You Clowns was described as "a gentle counterpart" to more cynical adult animated fare. There’s something surprisingly comfy about watching this charming family go about their simple existence. At the time, creator Joe Cappa expressed his desire to evolve comedy past its prevailing sarcastic tone. He linked this trend to various cultural shifts. “There's this level of irony that we are trapped in,” said Cappa. “It's like we have to know we’re the smartest person in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for 10 years, and we just have to laugh at something different now. Comedy has to evolve.” Future Seasons Given this two-season order, with Haha, You Clowns locked in for the future, Cappa could potentially help usher in that very evolution. If nothing else, the renewal guarantees audiences more opportunities to experience the warm glow of the beloved Campbell clan. The final episode of Season 1 of Haha, You Clowns will premiere on December 21st. The entire series is available for streaming on HBO Max.
